The sequence on making oneself heard focuses on activism. We will deal with 4 areas of activism.

Throughout this sequence, you will have the opportunity to make presentations on individuals ho have been/are committed in this way.

- young and committed : choose a person (English-speaking world only) who defends a cause in spte of their young age ; explain their fight and results. (for example : Salvador Gómez-Colón, Naomi Wadler, Molly Burke, Melati Wijsen, Mohamad Al Jounde, Ayakha Melithafa, Fionn Ferreira ...)

- online activism : explain a cause and why online activism was chosen to defend it (for example : Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Tarana Burke, Befeqadu Hailu, Behrouz Boochani, Charlie Dark, Franchesca Leigh AKA Chescaleigh, Kat Blaque...)
- athletes’ involvement : choose a sportsperson whose commitment to a cause has made them representatives (Rosalie Fish, Jesse Owens, Tom Daley, Colin Kaepernick, Cathy Freeman, Ann Meyers Drysdale, Jim Brown, Arthur Ashe...)
- can peaceful action be enough ? : peaceful pritests vs. suffragettes, for example. (Emmeline Pankhurst, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Dr Martin Luther King Jr...)

Tell your teacher who you have decided to present so she can schedule the date of your assignment.

Presentations will be limited to highlights of the person’s struggle, how they fought, the outcome of their fight. (2-3 mn maximum). If you use a slideshow, limit it to 2 slides.
